Juniors,

All students will need to take a College Entrance Exam as part of graduation requirements. The Indiana Department of Education has chosen the SAT to fulfill this requirement.

The SAT will be given on Wednesday, March 11, 2026  to all 11th grade students (free of charge).

Digital SAT practice and preparation can be found following this link: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/digital/digital-practice-preparation (click on “take a practice test” and then “how to use Khan Academy”). Use practice tests through Khan Academy, not Bluebook.

There are only a few things you really need to bring on test day:

-Your fully charged device. We cannot guarantee you'll have access to an outlet during testing. Your device should be able to hold a charge for 3–4 hours.

-A pencil or pen.

-An acceptable calculator. There's a graphing calculator built into the app, but you can bring your own if you like.

Again, this is a required test that ALL juniors must take.

For any student interested in applying to West Point, the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, or the Merchant Marine Academy :

Congressman Mark Messmer will hold this year’s Academy Day for the 8th District on Saturday, April 25 in Ft. Branch at the Vincennes University – Gibson County Center starting at 9:00 am CST.  Please share this information with any student who is interested in applying to one of the service academies.  There will be valuable information about the application process and students will hear from representatives from West Point, the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and the Merchant Marine Academy.  A representative from the Coast Guard will be in attendance as well, but the Coast Guard does not require a Congressional nomination. Applications for a nomination from Congressman Messmer are due in our office by Friday, September 25 for the graduating class of 2027.

A field representative will also be stopping by your school within the next month to see if there is anything else we can do to be of assistance.
